Sustainable Community-Based UplandDevelopment Program (SCUDP)

Program Goal

The empowerment of resource users and stakeholders in the rehabilitation, protection and promotion of sustainable use of the upland resources.

Project Objectives

  • Promotion of the communities' economic sufficiency through sustainable agro-forest resources livelihood development.
  • Enhancement of peoples' capacities to develop and manage their own forest resources.
  • Formation and strengthening of self-reliant and self-sustaining farmers' organizations.
  • Harness the legal mandates available in the sustainable resource use of agro-forestry resources and advocate the adoption of these policies at the local level.

Project Beneficiaries

  • 75 upland farming families who are members of Balincaguing Upland Farmers Association.
  • 51 upland farming families of Sagpat who are members of the Samahan ng mga Magsasaka sa Kabundukan

Members of the Upland Community Fire prevention is important in safeguarding the treeplanting activities. As part of a new local custom in Sitio Sagpat, outsiders are invited to plant a new tree.
